Hello! I'm Olivia the Owner and Head Trainer of The Shepherd Standard
I have grown up with dogs my entire life and loved everything with them. In 2018 I bought my very first personal dog Ace who is a GSD. That is when my dog training passion really set off and I have been working with dogs ever since. I have been professionally training dogs for 6 years and have now decided to open up and really start my business. I have attended a variety of seminars and workshops. I have also been a trainers assistant, kennel tech, and so much more to get all the experience I can. I believe that every owner should have the chance to do what they want and love with their dogs and not have to break the bank to accomplish that. Each person and dog learn at their own pace with a variety of techniques and I love helping people find what works for them and their dogs! I believe everyone is constantly learning, especially myself. So I keep an open mindset and constantly learn from others. What I wanted to accomplish with The Shepherd Standard was to build an affordable training company that uses balanced training techniques. I wanted to help people who need a service dog and don't know where to start, have hit their limit with their restless house pet, or teach and share the love for dog sports I have grown to adore.
When I'm not helping others I'm playing with my own dogs and family. I compete in almost every sport with my two shepherds, our favorite being dock diving in which I compete in with my GSD Jack.
Olivia has successfully trained a multitude of service dogs, including her own two, Jack and Ace. She also participates in agility, lure coursing, dock diving, urban/barn hunt, tracking/scent work, and has participated in UKC dog shows with her German Shepherd, Jack. She is also getting into more sports such as carting, herding, rally, Disc, Flyball, GCR, IGP and more! She's currently in school for her business degree and is going to dog seminars and attending online seminars. She is also a certified AKC Evaluator.
She is also a current student of a program called the STSK9 MVP program
